For this service learning project I’m joining a group at my school called The Green Berets. This involves helping staff in my school in trying to get students to like school and learn. Sometimes teachers can’t be one on one with students and that’s a problem for many students because of the way they learn. Teachers in general have a very hard job and paid so very little. So to make it easy on them and to let them focus on the majority of the class I will step in and help individual students who have problems with leaning. Teachers seem to love this for two reasons it gives students a chance to show their skills and get individual attention and the teacher won’t have to get the rest of the class behind on work because of it. If you look at High school droop out rate you'll see that teens have beeen staying in school longer than they used to hopefull I can do my part to lower this number. In 1980 14.1% of high schoolers were "Dropouts" in 2007 8.7% are "Dropouts".
